Payment Issues

They setup me and my friend for a 3 day job and the same day they called us and told us the job was cancelled for 1 day and to go in the next day. We go the next day and the client told us the job was completely cancelled. We found out by Massachusetts state law they were supposed to pay us for "show up pay" if we are sent home from the job site for at least 3 hours at minimum wage. They never paid us and never mentioned it to us or paid us. I have all the documentation for it and they just call us up and act mean and rude when we are just following the law. Be very careful if you work for them, watch all your hours because they are known to screw you over on hours and if you don't catch it fast enough they will deny it. Overall I would say don't work for them unless you are desperate and have no other options. You will be seen as a fool to them and the clients. There are much better jobs out there, even mcdonald's is a step up. Avoid.

Do your best to get alone with staff at people ready, because they are quick to judge you and put you in a category and that category is to block block block and block tell you can't get any job in ci

You could call Tacoma wa and report them but they will check there employee's for instance I took a job on job stacks a few days ago arrived 30 minutes early the supervisor and area manager was there so they not only could see that I came but I was the first to show up, so the supervisor instructed me to go into the building with the other people while she talked with are manager as I was walking in the first set of doors I didn't see anyone so I proceeded threw the other set of doors and then the supervisor came be hind me in a Abrupt and very and in a physical manner talking down to me and I tried to explain to her as to what she told me to do but she just kept try to cut me off in my speech by talking over me as if I was a child. So the associates at this particular people ready they have respect for you as an individual pretty much like slavery times don't sas me boy that's how they come off on time ready to work and still talk to you like we are in 1820 the year, so a job like this you work it until you can do better it's not that you'd want to stay on permanently just to get by but remember they want you to be a curtain way to work for people ready Very docile they want to be the Intimidator they don't mind letting you know who they really are, also if they don't like you they will allow you to choose a job on the site and then Send you a confirm text that you will be yo the job when they decide like 2 to 3 hours and maybe you accepted the job at 7pm to be there at 9am the next day they send the confirm text while you are sleeping getting your rest to be prepared for the job and then call you at 5am 4 hours before your shift start laughing and chuckling in ear to tell you that the job you're supposed to be going on has been canceled, now those are games that are being played atleast on me, so hang up and check job stacks and there a message stating I was removed 32 minutes ago granted I just got the phone with the supervisor that the job was canceled not what it said, so one could assume she did it so remember when you accept a job you have to watch your phone 2 to 3 hours to get your confirm text or they will cancel you especially and only if everyone is confirmed they are going to the job, but if that doesn't happen they won't cancel you in my experience. They do pick and choose and it don't seem like this bad practice is going to be checked so you'll will get tired of these Shenanigans and my suggestions is to go to another daily pay temporary service because the staff at people ready will play with your life because they don't care about you at all if they have favorites that they depend on. who ever you are you mean nothing to them and don't be a black person because they don't like African Americans for a company like true blue or people ready or labor ready being black you have 20 strikes against you anyway. the people that they hire comes straight out of Prejudice, America known all threw this land.

Don’t Give a **** about employees

You sit around for hours. No coffee or microwave. They drive you 2 hours away from home, not paid. You work your *** off, then they drive back and dump you like an ole *** Your done making them money for day. so don’t care your at 2 am stranded at 2am or for your safety. I think it would be better practice to get people home at that hour. Maybe they could get to bed , and work again the next day. Company is losing manpower and money. Your driven to work by drunk or high or both people who is highly likely a escapee from a mental institution or on FBI most wanted list. Some didn’t appear sane. Kinda *** on dark road with a couple. Employees too. Not screened well. People fall out often on job from intoxication. *** that go home right away with company drivers. It’s not professional what so ever, unless your a swingers club member or a *** Or *** unattractive dude trying to get laid. Now favoritism showed up. Never got job I asked for from day one. Got run around and no clear answer. Only give you what they want not what you want. Time to go to different company.Maybe have better administrators next spring. Always being replaced. It a patent place . And do not sterilize pope in between employees. You get used, smelly, fungus infected boots, and have to ride to job in a urine smelling van, with trash, moldy food, and Something good on the side of seat.(DON’t WANT TO KNOW”)

I agree. PeopleReady in Milford CT terminated me recently because I was not a good fit for the company.

I was actually terminated due to my learning disability. I am taking them to court.

This is the worst company. A bunch of crookd!

I was given a job 16 miles from my house. I accepted this job. A few days in they moved to a different location. 45 miles from my house! I told the manager Brandi that is to far of a drive i would need to be taken of the ticket cause that is to far and i didnt have the gas. She then threatened me with termination and followed through! Not only that but will not pay me for the day i worked and its been over 24 hours. I feel this is illegal and unjust! Ive tried all day to get ahold of her and the company no answer from anyone. Is there anything i can do?

Horrible Treatment

They sent us to a job and we had to wait in the rain. The guys that I drove there with were doing drugs before we arrived. Also at the sign up office they had no bathroom so we had to go outside. The desk counter lady was arguing on the phone with her kid and we had to wait longer. They closed that day before we go paid. Also my coworkers spoke little or no English.

The closest PeopleReady was about 85 miles away. It was our only option at the moment. We went in to start application process. They had lost all our info so we had to start over. They knew we had to travel a ways to get there. We were asked to come back to finish. I told them I had to go bury my Father (a Korean war vet) and I'd be back in a week or so. Rated with 1 star profile pic of the author Tammie of Bridgeport, CT Verified Reviewer Original review: May 5, 2019 I have been working for PeopleReady since 2013 in three states. Never had any complaints of my work ethics. I am now working for PeopleReady in Manchester NH. They called themselves punishing me by not giving access to the JobStack app because I called off one job. I am not a fifth grader, and should not be treated as a child who doesn't know any better. I am a Graduate student that holds a Master Degree. I believe that Corporate should hold these offices accountable for their unethical practices by requiring Recruiters and Management to continuous training on professionalism and all the practices of which they lack thereof. HELPFUL 4 people found this review helpful Rated with 1 star Michael of El Dorado Hills, CA Verified Reviewer Original review: May 4, 2019 PeopleReady.com is the most UNETHICAL and DECEPTIVE COMPANY I've ever dealt with. Their business practice is also highly illegal. I booked them to help unpack a truck in Tucson Arizona. I was quoted $26.99 an hour, 4 hour minimum, 2 man minimum, a bit over $200. HOWEVER, these scammers immediately took $500 directly out of my account, with NO NOTIFICATION and NO PERMISSION. That is ILLEGAL! Calls to their office resulting in several "Sorry, that's our policy." statements but no apologies. They said it would take 2-3 days to process a refund of the balance. I believe that this policy is in place intentionally, so that they can increase their reported bookings and revenue to the SEC, thereby propping up their stock price. This is ALSO ILLEGAL. The two men were to arrive at 10am. One did, the other did not show up until 10:35am. They did a decent job once they arrived. WARNING: I do not recommend doing business with these scammers. Rated with 1 star Alfred of Webster, TX Verified Reviewer Original review: April 8, 2019 I will preface this complaint by saying this: I've been working for PeopleReady since October, and have never had a client complain about me or my work. I have been asked to come back on repeated occasions by clients because of my work ethic. With that being said, I was on a repeat job for an outlet mall in my area this past weekend. Unfortunately, a few of the other employees on the job with me decided to steal from the stores we were working in. They of course were caught, and now I have been terminated from PeopleReady altogether, even though I was not a part of the stealing. The branch stated that there was no way to prove I was not one of the people stealing, but there are cameras located in every store, which would easily prove that I was not stealing. The branch stated they would not check cameras nor would they contact the original client the job was for, to investigate the situation fully. They have also stated there may be criminal charges filed against everyone on that particular job ticket, including me. This is definitely not professional when there are cameras that will show exactly who stole. Now, my family (wife and 2 young kids) will have to sleep in our vehicle until I find another place of employment. This job was keeping us from complete homelessness, and now, because of someone else's mistake, I am put in a horrible position. This is unacceptable in every sense of the word. If I cannot get this resolved, and am not offered my job back at PR, I will be seeking legal counsel regarding this matter. I am an honest, hard-working man with a family to take care of, and I will not stand for this. Either fully investigate the situation or my legal team will do it on my behalf, while recovering lost wages in the process. VIEW LESS HELPFUL 6 people found this review helpful Rated with 1 star Antonio of San Angelo, TX Verified Reviewer Original review: Feb. 13, 2019 As soon as I walked in I got an ugly vibe and rude questions... What I want and I don't know what it talking about is what I got from older woman then the not much younger woman was rude too, by saying they do not help with safety equipment but day before told me to ask and I could use it??? HELPFUL 8 people found this review helpful Rated with 1 star profile pic of the author Jonathan of Framingham, MA Verified Reviewer Original review: Nov. 26, 2018 Okay let me start with this temp agency should be investigated by the BBB for shady practices and clearly exploiting their employees. Like I used to love working for "Labor Ready" back in 2013. When I first started work here they would pay me every day using direct deposit onto a cash card. But with a catch - every damn job is literally back breaking and just downright menial work most of the time. Also the pay was horrible. Like you would work for 9 hours and make like 63 dollars after taxes ** you every pay period. The people who work for this company are ** greedy and make you feel like a damn outcast when you ask them to pay you on time. All they do is sit a ** desk and input our hours, take phone calls and pay us out with attitude and make you feel like a burden. Also the so called jobs will send you 50 plus miles from where you're located to make under minimum wage like 11.50/hr. You'll spend like 20 on gas that day and have like 40 bucks after working almost 10 hours. PeopleReady is a big ** joke. You guys change your name to make it seem like you're helping "people". But you treat them same people like crap every day. Anyone who has worked for them understand what I mean. Use PeopleReady only to connect to real job because they will ** you in long-term when you have back problems and car troubles from all the driving and laborious work they put on you. This company will break you literally. I rather work minimum wage at fast food restaurant than ever work this company again. I DON'T RECOMMEND ANYBODY WORK THIS COMPANY ANYMORE. Too much shady ** has been going on with them down to the dispatchers and being paid fairly and on time. None benefits just another number. You guys literally make money off the employees by taking it off the top of their pay. Sick. SMH.
